Somalia, USA
2016,82 min
Set in Minneapolis, Minnesota, home to the largest Somali immigrant community in the U.S., a 19-year-old Somali refugee named Adan is kicked out of his house by his mother for failing to live up to her expectations. Alienated from his family and friends, he makes an unlikely—and ungodly—new friend: a stray dog. The pair, both discarded by society, set off on a challenging journey of self-discovery, where Adan’s morals are constantly tested. A subtle and timely tale of a young refugee struggling to find a new home and identity for himself.
In English and Somali with English subtitles.
