Izu Ojukwu, Film Director of ’76

Izu Ojukwu

An award wining Nigerian film director and producer Izu Ojukwu is a name that comes to mind of any Nigerian and even some parts of other African countries whenever Nollywood movies production comes to mind. He’s popular for wining Best Director for Sitanda at the 3rd Africa Movie Academy Awards, which received nine nominations and won five awards at the event back in 2007.

Izu has always shown his great talent in his career, coming back in 2016 with the movie ’76. The movie received many nominations.

Izu will be present Opening Night of the Cascade Festival of African Films, Friday, February 2, for the 6:00 and 9:00 pm screenings of the film, ’76, Hollywood Theatre, 4122 NE Sandy Blvd.

Bassem Youssef

Bassem Youssef is an Egyptian comedian, writer, producer, physician, media critic, and television host, who hosted El-Bernameg (The Show), a satirical news program, from 2011 to 2014. The press has compared Youssef with American comedian Jon Stewart, whose satire program The Daily Show inspired Youssef to begin his career. In 2013, he was named one of the “100 most influential people in the world” by Time magazine.

Bassem will be present Thursday, February 8, for the 7:00 pm screenings of the film, Tickling Giants, PCC Cascade, Moriarty Arts and Humanity Building, Room 104.
